I work as a counsellor and family therapist. My practice includes individuals, families and couples. I trained in humanistic and integrative counselling with the Institute of Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy and in family therapy on the U.C.D./Mater Hospital Family Therapy Training Programme. I aim to integrate both these approaches in my work. I hold a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Advanced Practice and Research (Systemic Psychotherapy) at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
I work as a consultant, facilitator and trainer. I am a former board member of The Homeless Agency and The Family Support Agency. I chaired the Consultative Forum of The Homeless Agency and the monitoring group for the S.A.V.I. Report. I am a former member of The National Steering Committee on Violence Against Women. In this work I am particularly interested in achieving consensus and in working towards agreed goals.
I have a particular interest in counselling for low vision and sight loss and I volunteer for the National Council for the Blind of Ireland.
