I have over thirty years’ experience of offering therapeutic support to children and their parents who attend the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. In carrying out assessments and proposing solutions, I look at problem behaviours from a variety of perspectives within the family and work therapeutically with parents and children to improve their relationships and quality of life.
I do so by offering an empathetic and collaborative space to work through problems towards solutions.
I also have specialist experience in working in the Early Years Sector supporting parents whose children experience separation anxiety, ADHD or social skills difficulties.
I offer counselling support and parent education with the aim of improving parent-child, peer and sibling relationships. I apply a family systems approach to arrive at a greater understanding of how patterns of communication and family interactions develop around problem behaviours.
