Anne Mc Guinness B.A., Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling M.I.A.H.I.P., I.C.P.

I am a psychotherapist working with adults (25yrs plus) in individual counselling and psychotherapy. I am a registrant of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapists and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy. I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Tivoli Institute Dublin and I have a post training Certificate in Relational Gestalt Process from Dublin Gestalt Centre. I have also completed a post graduate training in childhood relational/complex trauma with Janina Fisher.

I have a collaborative approach seeking to find with each individual a style of engagement and level of work that best suits the client. As well as helping clients to understand deeper more painful issues and develop self- compassion, I support clients in finding and growing interests and abilities that can lead to a richer more satisfying experience in living.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked for 12 years as a voluntary bereavement counsellor and I have a continuing interest in working with clients affected by grief and loss. I also have a 4 year professional training as a Feldenkrais Practitioner. Feldenkrais is a mindful body awareness practice. I integrate into my work with clients, where that is felt to be helpful by the client, approaches from Feldenkrais that assist in reducing ordinary life stress and also in regulating a dysregulated nervous system following early life relational trauma and later traumas.
